Growing Up in Saudi Arabia: A Quiet & Simple Life

Looking back on my childhood, some of my fondest memories were spent living in Saudi Arabia with my immediate family. It was a unique environment to grow up in, defined by a sense of peace, space, and strong family ties.

Because Saudi Arabia is so vast, life there often feels open and unhurried. The sheer scale of the country gives you room to breathe, making it the perfect place to lead a quiet, simple, and grounded life away from the non-stop noise of modern busyness. It’s a period of my life I’ll always look back on with great appreciation.

Returning to the UK: Rediscovering Home on a Different Scale

After spending so much time abroad, returning to the UK to complete my studies and begin working was a major transition. Coming back meant stepping into a new chapter, balancing the demands of education with the realities of kicking off a career.

One of the biggest adjustments was simply getting used to the scale of everything again. Coming from a place defined by vast open spaces, the UK feels noticeably compact—from the narrower streets and dense towns to the everyday layout of local life. Getting re-acclimated to how tightly knit and bustling everything is here took some time, but it’s all part of settling back into the flow of life in the UK.
